IMCA diver medic (DMT)

The Professional Diving Centre is proud to announce that it offers offshore divers, IMCA Diver Medic Technician. This course is held at our Dive Medical Centre, situated within our training centre in Durban, South Africa.

The DMT will run over 12 days including examinations consisting of the following:

• 10 Full class days of tuition
• 2 Days of learner assessment, learner must prove competency.
• Full audio visual for class room environment
• State of the art training environment, including
  • 3 Cubical - hospital replicated student learning stations
  • 1 Live resuscitation bay with full compliment of Advanced Life Support resuscitation equipment
  • Training manikins for:
    • CPR
    • AED
    • IV insertion
    • Parental drug administration - IM/SC injection
    • Urinary catheterisation - male/female
    • ALS manikin for Advanced airway management
      • EndoTracheal Intubation
      • Laryngeal Mask airway
      • CombiTube airway
      • Orapharyngeal airway
      • Nasopharyngeal airway
    • Chest decompression - emergency and formal drains
• Student manual, text book and library
• 4-Man multi-place dive chamber situated within the class room capable of HBO, Comex CX30 and Saturation treatments within the Sat system.
• On site access to onboard saturation system
• On site access to various alternate dive chambers.
• Pre-hospital ambulance experience with Paramedics.
• Experiential learning in Level 1 Trauma / A & E department.
• Video recorded progress of students
• Produced DVD of Course.
• Pre-requisite - Class 2 diver
• Full course fee - R 9 800-00
• Refresher course - R 7 800-00
